We live in the Silicon Valley of California and have been raising chickens for years now. We have learned a lot about raising chickens along the way. At the Tiny House Farm, we love herbs for all of our human family, but we've also found it benefits our feathered family as well. Our Coop Nesting Herbs are chicken tested and approved by our own little flock. :)

We make each bag in small fresh batches using ingredients that are food grade. If you don't have chickens, you can also use our blend as an herbal tea or as potpourri. The smell is simply delicious. The blend smells like a walk through a fresh herb garden. We hope you love it!

*About Harriet:
Harriet was one of our first chickens we bought when we began raising them years ago here on our little urban farm in the Silicon Valley of California. She was a beautiful Rhode Island Red who found a permanent place in our hearts. All our girls roam free in the yard during the day to allow free ranging. Getting up close and personal with each one, you begin to learn that they have their own special little personality. Harriet was especially friendly, however.

During the long days of summer, she would jump up on a plant stand just under the kitchen window and peck on the glass during dinner preparations. We always cracked the window and fed her little scraps. She made soft little clucking sounds of approval when we gave her special treats. She was truly a pampered chicken (which is why we named our coop herbs after her to honor her).

She also used to jump up in our laps and give us chicken hugs (some chickens actually like to snuggle you just have to watch their feet). She loved to just hang out with us. We lost her one cold winter morning to a surprise raccoon attack. Since then we have added more chickens, each one becoming a part of our little urban farm family. We miss Harriet and know that we can never replace her, but life on the farm goes on and we get to love each one of our feathered friends as we learn to know what makes each one special.
