Vintage Yorktowne Blue and White Pfaltzgraff set- salt and pepper and relish tray /butter dish-

In 1833, potter Johann George Pfaltzgraff and his wife left Germany and immigrated to America. They moved in with a relative in York County, Pennsylvania who had started a small pottery business in 1811. Thier earliest pieces consisted of crockery and stoneware animal feeders. By the 1950s, durable and attractive modern kitchenware became all the rageso they introduced several new designs including Yorktowne.

This midcentury modern piece of Pfaltzgraff made in the late 1960s can be used for so many things including syrup, gravy, salad dressing, cream, or even a low-profile vase. It is a lovely solid piece of US ceramic history.
